Most people rarely notice the state of their sprinkler system and if everything is functioning as it should. With the spring beginning to blossom, and the summer only a few, short months away, it is time that you should prepare to run your sprinklers daily. People who are unaware of the common problems sprinkler systems face are often left with expensive repairs and or are stuck having to replace their entire system. Below we discuss some common problems for you to be on the lookout for this season.
Leakage in the piping.
Sprinklers have underground piping networks that are hard to access and even notice. Given that most systems run early in the morning when nobody is outside in the yard, it is difficult to notice if anything is wrong. Check to see how the water is being dispensed and be aware of the water pressure and amount that is being omitted.
Debris and materials clogging the pipes.
Sometimes unexpected materials can accumulate inside of the piping. When this happens, the water cannot pass through at its usual pace and pressure. Fixing this issue requires the professional hand of an expert to locate and diagnose. If you notice a sprinkler head is not dispensing water, contact your local expert immediately to correct the problem.
Roots growing into the nozzle.
Weeds and different sources of roots grow sporadically during the spring and summer months. Given the nature of roots, they will grow wherever they can reach. Even the smallest and narrowest areas are subject to root manifestation. To combat this, try to weed out areas that have heavy foliage and plant buildup.
Lack of water.
Sometimes, the showers and sinks in your home are using the majority of the water available. When this occurs, there is not enough to allocate to your yard and sprinkler system. Try to time out when you use the most water and run the sprinklers at times when you are not using any water in the house.
